How to get to Sigean
Abitarela is in the heart of medieval Sigean, between Narbonne and Perpignan, 5 minutes from the Réserve Africaine and 10 minutes from the beaches of Port-la-Nouvelle.
Parking in Sigean
Parking is free in Sigean. You have three options:
- The town hall square (and the squares next to it): the easiest, 50 metres from the house through the little streets, and monitored. Please note: cars must be moved before 6 am on Tuesdays and Fridays, market days.
- The main street: time-limited parking on the blue spaces, unlimited after 6 pm; white spaces are unlimited. It can be hard to find a space in high season.
- The car park at the bottom of rue Nationale: if you are not afraid of medieval lanes, drive past the house to drop off your luggage, then carry straight on downhill to the car park.
Coming by electric car?
Charge just around the corner: two charging points on Place du Vieux Sigean, very close to the house, and two more further down in the village, on Place de l’Octroi. They are part of the Révéo network of the Occitanie Region (domestic sockets, Type 2 and Type 3): see the prices.
The nearest station is Port-la-Nouvelle: from there, the bus takes you to Sigean for €1–2, or a taxi costs about €15.
The nearest main station is Narbonne: the bus takes you to Sigean for €2, or a taxi costs about €40.
For the last leg, use the journey planner on citibus.fr and choose the stop “SIGEAN LA VILLE”.
When you arrive, look for the Café de Paris on the main avenue and take the little street opposite. We are the large stone house on the corner of rue du Commerce and rue Nationale.

Before you arrive
I am arriving after 8 pm. What should I do?
Don’t worry! Call us on +33 4 68 41 53 19 before you arrive and we will find a solution together. You can also knock on the door: if we are available, we will be happy to let you in.
Can we come without a car?
Yes. Port-la-Nouvelle station is 10 minutes away: the bus takes you to Sigean for €1–2 (about €15 by taxi). From Narbonne station, it is €2 by bus or about €40 by taxi. The village is then easy to explore on foot.
Do I have to pay for parking?
No, parking is free in Sigean. The easiest option is the town hall square, 50 m away, except on Tuesday and Friday mornings (market). All the details are in the “By car” tab above.
Can I charge my electric car?
Yes, there are two Révéo charging points on Place du Vieux Sigean, very close to the house, and two more on Place de l’Octroi.
I am travelling by bike. Where can I keep it?
We can keep a few bikes safe overnight. Space is limited, so please let us know when you book to check availability.
